A case of obstructive sleep apnea in a 41-year-old male patient, whose symptoms were relieved by UPPP(Uvulopalato-pharyngeal plasty) is reported.
He was obese, hypertensive, and he complained of loud snoring, repetitive apnea, early morning headache and daytime somnolence with impaired social activity.
During nocturnal apneic period, abrupt falls of Sa02, Pa02 and PH were notified. By the image taking methods, any anatomic airway obstruction was not observed during tidal volume respiration, but posterior displacement of soft palate and uvula was detected during deep respiration.
